The heart of noise (Electronica Vol.2), pubblicato il 3 giugno 2016, è la seconda parte del progetto Electronica che ha visto Jean-Michel Jarre collaborare con numerosi artisti.
Rispetto al volume 1 – The time machine, The heart of noise si contraddistingue per sonorità più anni ’80 ed electropop, mantenendo nel complesso un ottimo sound. Tra i brani spiccano, a nostro avviso: la trilogia The heart of noise, Electrees, What you want e Why this, why that and why (un gioiello, con voce profonda di Dieter Meier su melodia delicata e testo “zen”), seguite a un livello inferiore dai brani cantati: Walking the mile, Swipe to the right e Here to you. Buone, ma non eccelse, Falling down e i brani, con spiccate sonorità anni ’80, Gisele e Circus…
Considerato nel complesso (vol. 1 e vol.2), Electronica è a nostro avviso il miglior disco in asssoluto di Jarre, con un sound di livello capace di abbracciare i più svariati generi musicali (dal pop all’hard-trance, dal rap al jazz, dalla disco al rock…), mantenendo il livello medio elevatissimo. Progetto interessante quello di Jarre, decisamente riuscito… Consigliato non ai soli fan dell’artista proprio per la poliedricità che caratterizza il doppio disco, facendolo rientrare di diritto nella categoria di disco di pop moderno. Nota negativa? l’assenza dei testi dei brani e i costi esorbitanti delle versioni deluxe. Ma a JMJ lo si perdona… 😀
